A caper about a washed up 90s band and an amusement park heist
Mo, a washed up rock drummer who spends his summer days renting beach chairs to visitors, has his sunny, sand-strewn world upended when Johnny, his former bandmate and friend, breezes in as unpredictably and inescapably as a force of nature. Johnny has a plan. He always has a plan. Playing on Mo’s sympathies, Johnny announces he’s dying and wants to get the band back together for one last gig. Only there’s much more to the plan than that.
Kardos has crafted a fun heist story, with twists and double-crosses to keep you turning the pages. You’ll root for these has-been musicians and their young protegee through their mistakes and misguided loyalties. And the twist at the end will leave you glad you did.
